Threaded Discussions

Threads are better than flat lists, or even two-level lists, because they promote several good things:

• Discussion in context - reduces need for extensive quoting.
• Long-term (archival) meaningfulness.
• Works better with asynchronous messaging (i.e. email, usenet)
• Natural divergence of threads may be freely explored.

Multiple Forums

A single installation of HyperNews allows creation any number of forums that all share the same global configuration. Each forum can vary the configuration somewhat.
