Documents from the Courts are to be interpreted by the Courts alone.
Documents from the Catholic Church are to be interpreted by the Catholic Church alone. In the doctrine regarding "No Salvation Outside The Catholic Church", the Catholic Church has clearly made its stand. The doctrine does not mean all who are outside the Catholic Church cannot be saved. This has been taught from the earliest time, again and again, as early as the times of Justin Martyr, to the time of St Ambrose, St Augustine, Pope Gregory I, etc. Therefore, Protestants may be saved, if they live their life in Christ, according to the teachings they have received in their various churches; but it remains true that gravely wrong teachings may endanger one's salvation.
