Enjoy... But remember
"Don't give in to winning the argument
and losing one of your eternal crowns..."

1. Joseph's line in MATTHEW is strictly the ROYAL line from David to Joseph.
2. In LUKE, it is not the royal line as Nathan, though is the son of David, but not in the royal line. 3. Joseph (of the royal line), though not the father of Jesus according to flesh, is the father in the eyes of the law. 4. Mary was a descendent of David through her father HELI. In Luke 3:23, Joseph was mentioned as the son of Heli although he is actually the son-in-law. But according to Jewish usage, Mary's name, being a woman, cannot appear in the genealogy, males alone forming the line. So Joseph's name is introduced in place of Mary's, he being Mary's husband. 5. Why 2 genealogies ? Necessary to trace the lineage of our dear Lord Jesus, the legal and the royal, the natural and the literal.
6. MATTHEW - Gospel of law and kingship
LUKE - Gospel of humanity
7. If Jesus is actually through the lineage of Joseph, then Jer 22:30 WILL BE CONTRADICTED. Jesus ascended the throne legally through Mary marrying Joseph. So again, instead of being confusing, the Bible has proved again to be accurate in all prophecies.
