If NT really purports that house churches are 'ecclessia' on its own, you haven't read your bible properly except with your HC lens!
Paul did not have any letter addressed to any house church in particular. His letters are not sent from one house church to another. They did have houses that can accomodate the whole church, eg Gaius was such a host (Acts 16:23). Paul always addressed the 'ecclesia' in the various cities as singular. That's because they were one church. They grew from one and are related as one. They can be meeting in a few large houses should the assembly grows too big. That's why some names are listed that the church meet in their house. But still the church of the city is recognised as one 'ecclessia'. If NT houses have gates like Mary's house or Simon the Tanner's house, surely there must be a courtyard for spill over sitting. Or it's 3 storey high like the house in Troas where Eutychus fell from the window sill (no place to sit), surely the upper room can be large to require many lamps to be lit for the service (Acts 20:8). If problem of partaking the Lord's Supper, they just need to break bread and have the Cup and bread to be passed around. As this is not the Pascal feast they're told to celebrate every time they met, but to proclaim the Lord's death instead. No need for everyone to lay beside the table. The houses where the believers met regularly are not tiny miny to only allow for 20 people to form a church. If so the Jerusalem should have at the average of 250 house churches but Luke call the Church in Jerusalem singular! The only letters Paul asked to be exchanged among the churches are those from other cities. (Col 4:16) The church in Jerusalem is one church, so is Antioch, so is Ephesus, etc till the seven churches of Asia in the Book of Revelation. You never find any apostles address issues of a single house church in the NT. Nor did Jesus Himself in Revelations.
