Christopher Yip, Edmund, and other Protestants,
It is good that you are standing up to Popery. However, may I humbly suggest that it is far better to focus on the gospel of Jesus Christ in dealing with Roman Catholics (for it is the power of God unto salvation for those who, by grace, believe) rather than to continually remonstrate with them. I have found witnessing to Roman Catholics much more profitable than arguing with them. God was pleased once to save a Roman Catholic family through my spoken witness when I was a new convert. As I was relatively ignorant of Protestant apologetics, I did not launch into an overbearing tirade against Rome. Instead, I focused on Jesus Christ as He was very much on my mind then. Shortly afterwards, this Eurasian family was converted and I found them in a good Protestant church pastored by one Ho Soo Kum. By the way, do not be surprised by the resistance of Roman Catholics to the gospel. Their stubbornness is actually prophesied in the Bible as follows (emphasis added): 2 Thessalonians chapter 2
2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2:10 AND WITH ALL DECEIVABLENESS OF UNRIGHTEOUSNESS IN THEM THAT PERISH; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2:11 AND FOR THIS CAUSE GOD SHALL SEND THEM STRONG DELUSION, that they should believe a lie: 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 2:14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy chapter 4
4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; HAVING THEIR CONSCIENCE SEARED WITH A HOT IRON; 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. God bless!
