Anything food or drink that leads to addiction is definitely not fine for christians. That's why total abstinence is prescribed for certain people and certain type of food under normal circumstances. Take morphine eg. Who would advise the young to take it but it is prescibed by doctors to ease the pain of certain types of patients.
