don't be fooled, protestants have created their own traditions, one is to attack the True Church of Christ.

On my bedside is an icon of the theotokos 'she who points the way'. Time and time again I would turn my eyes on her and turn my heart to Jesus. Sometimes I'll say/sing the said liturgical prayers like the axios esti, ave maria, and my favourite is still the salve regina.
I guess my prayer life is usually quite biblical, reciting from the daily office most of the time, which means basically praying the psalms through and through. Then there are the sighs and groanings of the spirit-inspired heart. Mostly though I'll do contemplative prayer with no words.
BUt then I'm Anglican, I'm going to hell anyway. <grin>
