0530 hrs GMT ,8/5/2001, BBC, Focus on Faith. Focusonfaith@bbc.uk.co Dear Sirs, Re: Distortions in your edited versions of the gospels of the Bible. I have some complaints about your programmes, which distort the Biblical accounts. As pointed out in your Radio, 2 billions of Christian respect this man, called the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Your host direct to a man, who failed in every logics and common sense, when he said that,” Jesus did a few miracles”,” the transfigurations of Jesus, where His clothes became glistening white were mere warmness from His beings”,etc etc. The Bible records cannot be altered, and it records that many thousands seen His miracles, and many were healed miraculously from diseases, and Jesus cast out demons from possessed souls; not to mentioned His disciples who were sent out to preach the gospels and healed the sick, likewise reported the same. So in everyway the Biblical accounts radically were different from your versions. It shows clearly that your programmed perverted the Bible; or it came from different accounts dissimilar from scriptures. Jesus was transfigured at the mountain, where all students know this passage. This was a supernatural incident, and the way your discussions explicitly explained away from the Biblical records were appalling. In a way, your intended message was to do away the supernatural elements, as described by the gospels. But all knows that Moses and Elijah were also involved in the encounter, besides a voice spoke from Heaven. It was all-miraculous. A couple days earlier, your BBC programmed showed some interviews with Kenyas, and about people being healed of Aids HIV positive in Kenya, through a Preacher, who prayed for them in a Church. A girl, whom you allowed testifying, and she boldly declared that it was God who healed her of the dreaded HIV AIDS, after being confirmed by testing, found to be negative. But suddenly, a bad suggestion from your reporter, state that this Kenya Girl did not have Aids in the first place. You’re ill suggestions implied that she was a confused soul, and the whole church are naive, as seen from your words, are never acceptable. The medical professions of a Clergy never deny nor affirm such incidents, as also he was being interviewed, that day. If this Kenya girl, who was tested positive with HIV, and were depressed about this disease; and later, after being prayed for by a Preacher, now claimed that she was healed. Moreover, this is no isolated case, as many more were being healed in that Church, of HIV. This was your reporting, and as listener, I listened. I believed this Kenya girl more than your reporting. She is a credible witness, and your ill comments were surely unwelcome. It shows your prejudicial opinions; this is what I feel, honestly. Yours truthfully, Frank Frankie_lee@pacific.net.sg. c.c antioch.com.sg.
