Warning Language (and therefore Bible translations) is a powerful tool indeed!

First a correction of a typo-error on the earlier post.
It should be Ps 2:4 and not Ps 4:2

If one were to study the verse and look at it's context, it's clear that the literal meaning of "LAUGHS" is not applicable here. In fact, most authors, scholars, bible commentaries, study guides have a dramatically different interpretation of it. Here's a sampling:

shall laugh--in supreme contempt
Laugh - Shall despise them and all their crafty devices.

Next, REJOICING DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN WILD UNCONTROLLABLE LAUGHTER! Your supporting ref of Luke 10:21 is shaky at best.
Matthew Henry Bible commentary says:

"in that hour he rejoiced. Note, Nothing rejoices the heart of the Lord Jesus so much as the progress of the gospel, and its getting ground of Satan, by the conversion of souls to Christ. Christ’s joy was a solid substantial joy, an inward joy: he rejoiced in spirit; but his joy, like deep waters, made no noise; it was a joy that a stranger did not intermeddle with. Before he applied himself to thank his Father, he stirred up himself to rejoice; for, as thankful praise is the genuine language of holy joy, so holy joy is the root and spring of thankful praise."

... nothing mentioned here or in the verse itself suggesting that a wild, uncontrollable 'holy' laughter took place!

So I suggest you use some other argument to support your laughing. No, laughing is not a sin. I was going to demolish your 'football stadium' argument... then, fortunately, common sense prevailed and I saw the wisdom of letting your ludicrous example speak for itself.

So I say again, laughing, in and of itself, is not a sin,... but it is definitely NOT a fruit of the Spirit either.

When laughter is brought into the church as a demonstration of the Holy Spirit's annointing and a whole new 'Holy Laughter' doctrine is developed around false teachings, then IT BECOMES SIN!
