Actually, according to BB Warfield ' There was little or no evidence at all for miracle-working during the first fifty years of post-Apostolic church, slight and unimportant during the next fifty..more abundant during the third and abundant and precise only in the fourth to increase still further during the fifth century. [Warfield, Counterfeit Miracles, Banner of Truth].
If miracles were the norm, one would expect a proliferation during the period closest to the Apostolic age and dwindle as time passes as men became more carnal and wordly. Instead, the gradual increase would be due to the fact that as the importance of the Word lessen, men began to find dissatisfaction and replace the vacuum with superstition and heathen resuscitations. P.S. We would be grateful if Frank/Frankie did not respond since we would not want to deprive them of their valuable time spent with the angels or whatever that they commune with.
