so while we're on the topic of Science and the Bible...is it alright to discuss further??
I was once interested in Science but gave up because it gets too technical and impersonal. Say if someone has a crisis problem...just take eg having death in the family (quite related to this thread still isn't it?), and we being his/her friends talk about the Outer Space & Time & even Einstein fantastic discovery? I do wonder how does it help the bereaved family. The loved one is gone but the surviving family need to prepare themselves b4 their turn comes. That's why i think we have to turn to Biblical Theology to find the answer to Man's dire need of reconcilation with His Creator b4 we discover the Wonders of God's other wonderful creation of the Universe besides species like us. But on the other hand, i think your interest in Science is very useful for those who may be put off by our frequent scruples over our different Theologies and hope they come to realize that the Universe is actually a testimony for God (Ps 19). Interestingly, the later half of this Psalm is also revealing what Psychologists may fail to discover, that the wholeness of a person's personality is dependent on the Law (moral) of God, another of His Laws (which is more crucial to us) besides those concerning the upholding of the Universe. Isn't everything under God's Rule very interesting? Btw since you're reading up on Einstein, i read somewhere that he said something about mysticism. Have you come across it? I like to know what he says too. (That might resolve some tension between the charismatics and the non-charismatics i think. Hehe!) Have a nice Sunday! Cheerio!
