Hi Edmund:

>>>If God is sooooo good, why does He allow us to suffer

eg creation of so called ugly animals
    allowing carbon monoxide poisoning
    dogs have genes that produce vitamin C, but man does not, and that God should have known better that man will need to travel long sea voyages.

Gimme a break. This in no way argues against God's existance, but His character. But remember, we are the sinner.....Better interllectual challanges please.<<<

Is this really you? I mean, "existance", "interllectual", "challanges"? :-))

Actually, this is a restatement of the problem of evil. We discussed it some time back, but up to today, I must admit that it's still a question mark.

It may not disprove god per se, but it certainly points to a logical flaw in the theology of the christian god, as in:

God is all-powerful and all-loving/merciful.
But there is evil and suffering in this world.
So God is either not able to remove evil and suffering, which means he is not all-powerful;
Or God is able, but unwilling to remove evil and suffering, which means he is not all-loving/merciful;
Or both.

You said we are sinners, implying (I think) that we sort of deserve it, the evil and suffering that is. Again, this points to an unmerciful/unloving god. Sure, he may have setup a beautiful place called heaven for the afterlife, but I guess when people are suffering, they are more interested in the here and now. And this is where god seems to have deserted them, either deliberately by his will or by his lack of power to do anything about it.

Regards.
