Enjoy... But remember

and losing one of your eternal crowns..."

Ah, today's paper confirms what I said about Darwin. He was under severe grief and private anguish over the death of his daughter which most probably caused him to loose his faith. For the first time they are going to reveal this in an exhibition in Kent tomorrow. The theory of evolution cannot prove there is no God. Grief is a terrible emotion which must be dealt with or it will destroy a person. I have also found out that Newton wouldn't be a "Newtonian" according to the latest analysis of his private papers. I knew that Newton scholars were wrong on some of his theology and so decided to pay attention to his own writings only. It just goes to show that there is a private side to even the greatest of men, including geniuses. Normally when I analyse anything of importance I am cold and switch off all emotions. Hence the scientific method appeals to me. I agree with you that this is a terrible place for those who are no longer young, say over 45. It seems one has nothing more to do than to wait for death after 40. I don't know where this stupid idea comes from. But my daughter has a classmate in London U who is 72 years old doing the same course as she is. Shows the difference between the society there and here. I agree with you in going back to studies. Latest research shows that if you don't use your brains you will loose it. On the other hand if you do use it new "chains" will be formed by the dendrites and thus change your thinking capacity. What you can do is to do a distance learning course and since you like science you can choose one of the mathematical sciences. Actually those geniuses don't depend on formal qualifications. Do you know that Newton was the second last boy in the second last class when he was in school? As the last century was the century of physics this century will be the century of biology. Wish you all the best in your plans. Cheers. |
