Enjoy... But remember
"Don't give in to winning the argument
and losing one of your eternal crowns..."

Jason S,
Just tell the readers whether you are now a Roman Catholic or an Anglican. YOU: I know you mean good to warn others because of my passage. But do you know it hurts as I don't believe in PURGATORY too? I am just asking for SENIOR members and Clergy's opinion. ME: Sorry I am not a SENIOR member. If you don't believe in purgatory and yet consider yourself a Roman Catholic, you are one CONFUSED person. Let me remind you. Vatican I states that it is necessary for salvation that an individual believe not only all that is revealed in Scripture but also everything defined and proposed by the Church. To reject anything officially taught by the Roman Church is to reject saving faith and to forfeit both justification and eternal life: "Further, all those things are to be believed with divine and Catholic faith which are contained in the Word of God, written or handed down, and which the Church, either by a solemn judgement, or by her ordinary and universal magisterium, proposes for belief as having been divinely revealed. And since, without faith, it is impossible to please God, and to attain to the fellowship of his children, therefore without faith no one has ever attained justification, nor will any one obtain eternal life unless he shall have persevered in faith unto the end" (Dogmatic Decrees of the Vatican Council, On Faith, Chapter III. Found in Philip Schaff, The Creeds of Christendom (New York: Harper, 1877), Volume II, pp. 244-245). And John Hardon says: What must a Catholic believe with divine faith? A Catholic must believe with divine faith the whole of revelation, which is contained in the written word of God and in Sacred Tradition. Can a person be a Catholic if he believes most, but not all, the teachings of revelation? A person cannot be a Catholic if he rejects even a single teaching that he knows has been revealed by God. What will happen to those who lack ‘the faith necessary for salvation’? Those will not be saved who lack the necessary faith because of their own sinful neglect or conduct. As Christ declared, ‘He who does not believe will be condemned’ (Mark 16:16). Why is divine faith called catholic? Divine faith is called catholic or universal because a believer must accept everything God has revealed. He may not be selective about what he chooses to believe. (John Hardon, The Question and Answer Catholic Catechism (Garden City: Image, 1981), Questions #44, 45, 46, 47). Purgatory is one of the dogmas of the RCC. If you don't believe it, what "passage" are you talking about? I strongly urge you to return to the Anglican Church. YOU: Are you a Christian? I am a Christian all my life and not a Catholic before. ME: Better stay this way. YOU: Be Christ-like and not being offensive in words or sensitive in exchanging points of views and turning a session into arguement. Ask youself, did Jesus rebukes the Jews and turned violent in actions and words as the some of the Sadducess and Pharisees rejected His teaching? ME: Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. - Jesus. (John 8:43-45 KJV) YOU: Only the sinless shall judge the sinful ones. Adopt God's law, not Human law. Are you really sinless to judge against others and speak words of blasphemy? Let's unite our hands in Christ and be obedient in God's will and draw our faith as Holy Communion of Saints! ME: Whoa! That's a whole bunch of accusations! Have I judged you or anyone here? Your FEELING judged does not mean I judged you. Guilt sometimes play tricks on your mind. And blasphemy?! Whoa, that's a BIG one. How did I manage to do THAT? I REPEAT - WE CANNOT UNITE WITH THOSE WHO PREACH A DIFFERENT GOSPEL! In fact, we have to STAND UP AGAINST THEM! If we can be one with heretic Rome, we can be one with JWs, Mormons, and heck, might as well pull in the Judaizers and Muslims! No, we have to preach the biblical Gospel. Does it mean I am against ANY ecumenical unity? That would be what anti-Protestant Mr Tan would like readers to think. The truth is that I'm all for unity BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL. Please don't play the martyr! Christopher
