Persistence is one thing; being rude almost to the point of criminal harassment is another.
But the Forum Master's point abt Christians having a "good product" to sell should be noted. I've never denied that Christians are eager to "sell" Jesus. I got some really sacarstic remarks from some of my non-Christian friends over our witnessing. Why is "selling God" so repulsive to them? Anyway I just tell them "yes I'm trying to promote Jesus now will you listen to my sales presentation?" That usually shut them up, hahaha.
The alarm, however, sounded off in my mind when I read these 2 points raised by you:
1) that these "Christians" slime other churches; 2) that these "Christians" say you must speak in tongues otherwise it shows you got deep-rooted problems.
1) is an almost sure sign that it's a cult.
2) is not supported by Scriptures. This way of thinking is also psychologically damaging.
My advice remains the same: stay away from these people. But hopefully, it will not put you from seeking God. The Bible says "seek and ye shall find." Each one will live his own life, and I hope yours will end at the feet of God. But that's your life and no one can run it for you. (Better stop before I get more philosophical...)
