Santification is an issue which is not only "close to the heart of the people called Methodists" but also to every other christian denominations. There are about five views on santification and none of these are so opposed to each other for the Methodist pastor to call Admin to remove the article on sexual sins. All the five views say that we should seek santification after justification by faith.

The other point is that the writer of the original article gave the impression that the church is not efficeint in solving sexual peoblems. I am afraid I have to agree with him. That is why I said homosexuals should should seek help from the scientists in Messageboard II. Sexual sins are indeed complicated and in some cases it is not just a case of simple dicision making. With such problems the Will is in bondage too and professional help is necessary especially in obsessive or compulsive cases. I don't believe the clergy is equiped to deal with such problems. In some cases for those who are concerned with their santification and sexual sins, the church can cause serious problems of guilt and condemnation resulting in more psychological problems. It can result is a series of sin, guilt, repentence, confession and sin again which can drain a person through endless self-condemnation. And the Will becomes weaker and weaker in this process. It is a serious problem and the I thought the article was good, especially the part where the writer says that santificaton is a long and continuous process throughout one's lifetime.

I'm sorry but I deal with cold hard facts of life and usually one's status is usually irrelevant in my analysis. If there are problems we have to find solutions.

Santification may take a lifetime and I believe the Lord knows how to santify those whom He has called. If some of these people who needs to be santified are the clergy, so what? It only shows we are all human. So let us put away all pretence and face the cold facts.
