Role is a function, not a person.
Say, if a policeman is a father at home, he is the same person. But if a policeman has a father, he and his father are 2 persons. If the policeman has a father who is the Police Chief, the policeman is carrying out his duties in the authority given by his father. When people ask for his authority, he can show his ID (name) signed by the Police Chief and they both share the same family name (GOD). Hope this helps.
