God is One but not One person manifesting Himself in 3 roles.
Scriptures show more evidence for a tri-personality in unity that our finite minds cannot comprehend but can accept as they are taught especially in the NT by our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, though alluded to in the OT.
'Any statement of doctrine that fails to set forth both the UNITY and the TRI-PERSONALITY of the Godhead falls short of Scriptural teaching. The doctrine of the Trinity cannot lead to Trithesim for while there are 3 PERSONS in the Godhead there is but one SUBSTANCE or ESSENCE and therefore but ONE GOD. God is ONE is the message of the OT; (to prevent the Israelites from going the way of Polytheism prevalent among her neighbours) God is one in THREE persons is the message of the NT; and the revelation is complete.'
