I am no scientist. I got to my present position after a long an winding road with plenty of time wasted on thinking and reading. Some aspects of christianity or rather what christians claim is very confusing. Scientific methods does help a lot to sort things out. How do sheep come to know the voice of the shepherds? It should be no problem at all because animals have a lot more powerful senses than we have. For example, I heard that a dog can distinguish about 100 over different kinds of smells. So I presume it can easily tell whether it has met you before or not. Have you heard about the cat which walked about 150 miles alone form one town in England to another in Wales and found its way back to its former home after its owner had moved. They don't know how it did it, but it did. So I don't think it should be a problem for animals to recognise its owner's voice. They can detect more frequencies in sound waves than we can. If you are interested you can easily find out more by watching some documentaries on TV. If you subscribe to SCV you can get plenty of infomation on animals. A study of the animal world certainly shows something about the intelligence of God who created them. And Jesus was using the sheep as an example to illustrate that those who are His will hear His voice and a stranger they will not follow. So those who don't hear His voice are not of His sheep. Okay, how do you account for christians who follow false doctrines? Why don't they instinctly react against false doctrines? I think a true christian will not follow false doctrines that will affect his or her salvation, in the long run. But it is possible to be deceived for a while, i.e. take a wrong turning in life. A real christian will know, sooner or later, that there is something wrong somewhere when he or she is involved with false doctrines. Bye Bye: |
