To exclude predestination is to limit the omnipotent and omniscient attributes of God but to exclude free will, all work by God through history will be meaningless. The Bible has so much to support both assertions.
I believe both coexist. Just like our finite minds cannot really explain the doctrine of Trinity, so this is another area.
