Hi! The following creed was traced to be the earliest by Sir Isaac Newton. There is nothing in it which is contrary to the Scriptures and Reason. I submit it for your purusal. Note the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are separate and distinct Beings but the creed does not say how they are related to each other. "I believe in one God the maker of heaven and earth and all things visible and invisible and in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was buried and on the third day He rose again and ascended to heaven. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I belive in the Holy Ghost who spoke through the Prophets." St Paul says, "Yet for us there is only one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live." (1 Cor 8:6). Note the Apostolic usage of the word "one", i.e. one God and one Lord. You'll find this in many parts of the NT epistles by the Apostles. Sorry, but as I said earlier, you must be willing to "think like mad" if you want to investigate this subject. God Bless and Bye Bye: |
