Hi Truelight,
I hope you're awake by now...if i seem to be aggressive in my words from now on...please don't take it as a personal attack...that's not what i intended to, to direct it at any person but i'll have to be very forthright agst false teachings that you trying to bring here. DB's article said that the Son is not of an eternal nature but refers to the Incarnation of God the Father and that there is no such being as the pre-existent Son. The Logos is God the Father's activity in clothed in the flesh, just as the Spirit of God is the Father's activity Who is spirit in nature and so are not separate beings. Isn't all these teachings muddied by men's extrapolation to simplify doctrines to fit our finite minds, (F, S & HS cannot be distinguished because God is a Unit and must therefore be 1 Person in 3 modes) rather than taking the full revealed Word of God (the Bible) despite all its complexities? Let's just look at the scriptures that teach about the relationship between the Father and the Son explicitly. In most of the apostles' writing from Paul to John in the later part of the 1st Century...you'll find these statements stated PLAINLY for us all. These verses do not mince words of the Father and the Son together, they SPECIFICALLY mentioned God the Father is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ :- 2 Cor 1:3 " Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort." Eph 1:3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly place in Christ, just as He (the Father) chose us in Him (meaning the Son) before the foundation of the world,..." Col 1:3 "We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,..." Not just Paul taught these things...Peter and John too :- 1 Peter 1:3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,..." 1 John 1:3 "what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ." 2 John 1:3 "Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ , the SON OF THE FATHER , in truth and in love," In these many statements, i wonder how do the Oneness people wander from the Scriptural statements (not deductions) concerning the God the Father and His Son as a still ongoing relationship. If Jesus is just God the Father's manifesting in the flesh on earth,...how come the scriptures, after the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ, still addressed God the Father as the Father of Jesus and Jesus as His Son, but never once mentioned Jesus as the Father at all?
