Hi SK,
You have to understand that to study the vocab of a word by itself is meaningless as each word has more than 1 meaning (just look up any dictionary). The important thing to look for, besides studying the vocab of a word is to study its usage in the sentence and the immmediate (eg the paragraph) and overall context (eg the chapter or even the whole book). For major doctrines you have to even study the whole Bible and that's what theologians have been doing for centuries. ***I fully agree and that’s what I am doing. But you miss out something, The Bible say “in the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses shall every word be established”, did you follow, SK? Trinitarian based on the ONLY verse Matthew 28:19 to support their baptism (in the name of the FSH), when there are 5 Scriptures showing baptism in the name of Jesus (Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:5, Acts 22:16). Some churches play safe, they baptise in the name of FSH AND in Jesus name. If someone will suddenly pounce on a major doctrine and say what the major doctrines the mainline Churches had studied are erroneous, that person must prove he or she had done more than what the theologians had 'laboured' in the past. (From the articles he wrote so far, I don't think DB is even doing his exegeses rightly, not to say even expound on the whole doctrine of the Godhead). ***I have said before that the Oneness doctrine is the post apostolic doctrine and not a new teaching. By the way, don’t you believe as the coming of Jesus is getting nearer, God will give us more revelation. How can you receive revelation if you can’t accept change? In these many statements, i wonder how do the Oneness people wander from the Scriptural statements (not deductions) concerning the God the Father and His Son as a still ongoing relationship. If Jesus is just God the Father's manifesting in the flesh on earth,...how come the scriptures, after the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ, still addressed God the Father as the Father of Jesus and Jesus as His Son, but never once mentioned Jesus as the Father at all? ***You are asking a question which only God can answer. If you answer my question, then I will answer yours. If God is made up of 3 persons, how come the scriptures, after the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ, never once mentioned that God is a trinity or a triune God or God is made up of 3 distinct persons?. p/s Hey, you still haven't answered my question. I specifically pick out those scriptures that stated "the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ", "the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" etc... These verses mention Father "of", mind you not "and". Those that uses 'and' between God the Father and Jesus are left out. ***I have mentioned earlier. Father is referring to the deity, while Lord Jesus Christ(son) is referring to the humanity of Jesus. I don’t know what’s your question. We have to accept God in both roles, as Father and Son. If the greetings show 2 persons, then why the Holy Spirit is not mentioned? Is it the Holy Spirit not important? ***I have said enough and will not go further. I will leave it to you to search for yourself especially the problems of trinity. I hope you don’t choose to accept mystery. Would you like to start with John 5:43 “I am come in my Father’s “name”…..”. What is this “name”?. Take Care, brother.
