You asked, " You don't believe in 3 distinct persons, right?" Sorry to disappoint you but I do believe in three distinct Beings - the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Here is what I believe:- "I believe in one God who is the maker of heaven and earth and all things visible and invisible and in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was buried and on the third day He rose again and ascended to heaven. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end. I belive in the Holy Ghost who spoke through the Prophets." Since you don't have a creed, you may want to consider writing one yourself. If your church doesn't have a creed or can't write one then who knows what you believe? The best way to confuse people is to tell them you don't believe in or need any creed. According to what I understand from you folks the fullness of the Godhead (not God) dwells in Christ and the Father left Christ at the crucifixion. This will make Jesus Christ nothing more than a mere man and He is divine only when the Godhead (?) was in Him. This is a heresy. I believe Christ was intrinsically divine from the beginning and was, is and always will be divine. Why did John say, "He was in the beginning with God" again in John 1:2? The "He" clearly means John was talking about another Being who is distinct from God. So from the beginning there was two distinct Beings. John wasn't using some mysterious word when he used the word Logos. It was a common word at that time from Plato's philosophy. It means an Intelligent Being who created the worlds. Why would John use a word which his readers wouldn't understand? No, at that time it was quite a common word. |
