Theology is the study of God.
Where does theology come out of ? The scripture ofcourse. I am not debating on that. So, my phrase didn't convey the correct idea. Sorry about that. The point I was making was, that without theologians, who digs into the Scriptures, interprets them for us, brings the principles out , etc ..it is difficult for us in some cases to see what the scripture is saying. Some scriptures are plan. ex: Do not steal..etc but some are not so plain. We need to know somw jewish customs for interprtting some..etc.. That was the point. Ofcourse, we might be able to do without them. They are not ESSENTIAL, as the Holy Spirit. But we certainly will be introducing many wrong teachings.... I guess I am equating theologians to todays teachers, and maybe I am wrong there...but I think a great teacher who is well versed in scripture, in my mind, I consider as a theologian....
