Thanks for the clarification. I agree with much of your latter post. But you must also consider that many theologians could give a flip about the bible. A former pastor of mine (denomination withheld) told me in private that he didn't believe the bible was any more important than any other book. "After all it was just written by men." When theology parts from good honest hermeneutics as it has in many arenas it becomes intelectual vanity and has led to many false doctrines. However, I thank God for those theologians (scholars) who gave us Concordances and interlinears and translations. Without them we would have no Bible to read. A point that "bemeused" fails to see I believe. I beleive we are on the same page for the most part. God Bless |
