Hello Bill, More questions.... 1 It makes sense that it is God who gives the gifts rather than people. I agree with you.

What puzzled me is why people go to someone who is strong in prophetic ministries to ask them to pray for an 'impartation' of that gift. They would go to someone with an evangelist's gift and ask for prayer for an impartation of that gift. Can not a 'prophet' pray for impartation of an 'evangelist' anointing for a person....? Or vice versa? Only rationale I can think of is that they are trying to follow Elisha in asking an Elijah (since both share in prophetic ministries) for that kind of prayer....

If it doesnt matter whether a prophet or apostle or pastor prays....then should the above practice should be discouraged....?

2. Are gifts given a. to the person who subsequently exercises the ministry eg the gift of helps to an usher in the church? b. to the person who benefits from it, eg the one healed when someone given the ministry of healing prays for him or her? c. to the church per se and a member of the church simply exercises the ministry when the occasion calls for it eg deliverance?

3. A new question: The fairly recent teachings (not really new but more prominent recently) -eg by Bill Harmon, Cindy Jacobs, Lawrence Khong etc. about having apostles in the church today....how does this and the five fold office fit into the church structure of having bishops? Is apostle under bishop's spiritual authority or the other way around?

Thanks for taking the questions seriously. God bless. Sincerely, THE PILGRIM

(ps the reason why I requested you to email me directly is because you have left no email address and I did not want to risk attracting more email flames when I ask these questions publicly. Had enough of the unedifying cynicism, sarcastic remarks in the other forum.)
