cult (kult)noun:

1. A system or community of religious worship and ritual. 2. The formal means of expressing religious reverence; religious ceremony and ritual.

A cult really is a part of cultivate. meaning, we cultivate an idea. ( in the strickest sense ). Christians were known as a cult among the jews after Jesus time.

only difference is that Christianity is such a BIG cult that they can call other 'small' cults, CULTS.!!! ;)
