Re: Question Hi Chris, how do you interprete what Jesus said to Mary Magdalene then? eom (SK)

From: Christopher Yip CKHY

Hi SK,

Jesus said to Mary that He has not ascended to Heaven when He met her at the tomb. This was referring to the ascension in Acts 1:9 and not about His Spirit being in paradise.

Physical death is the separation of the spirit from the body while resurrection is the reuniting of the two.

When Jesus died physically, His body was in the grave but His spirit was in Paradise or Heaven with the Father. This is not the ascension He was talking about. When He resurrected, His spirit was reunited with the transfigured body and it is this united spirit and body that was awaiting ascension.

Regards,

Christopher
