Emmanuel,
Your rebuttal using pictures of loved ones is a standard RC reply to the charge of idolatry but it is empty of substance. Do you pray to the one in the photos? Do you ask the (dead not those alive) one in the photos to intercede before God for you? Do you pray for the dead one to be freed from purgatory? Perhaps you do for all of these but Protestants don't, so your analogy cannot work for Protestants. For you and Roman Catholics, some of you keep photos and pictures of your loved ones in order to pray to, pray for, ask for intercession; while others just as a token of loving remembrance, much like Protestants. So, Protestants keeping images of their loved ones is NOT the same as RCs prostrating before the statue of Mary and offering prayers to her. Just because we keep photos in no way justify or indicate our agreement with RC idolatry. Consider my words. Regards, Christopher
