Dear, Some Catholics, they seems to be like praying to Mary the mother and Jesus the Holy Infant. This only remind them of the great care of Mother Mary when she brought up Jesus from an infant, the motherly love is very touching, like how our own mothers gave birth to us, how mothers feed us in the middle of the night, they wipe our tears, our human waste, if anyone of you has children, you will know how much a mother sacrificed to her beloved son. Its never easy to bring up a son, especially the responsibility of bring up the Son of God, you will have to answer if anything goes wrong! Especially the Presentation of Christ in the temple, where Joseph and Mary accidentally lost Jesus. Anxious Mary, looking for her lost child, was relieved when Jesus was found preaching in the temple! As infant Jesus teaches us in his image, to be as pure as a baby, one who see no evil, newly born, such are the blessed ones in the kingdom of God, upon Jesus teaching his disciples and women and children on " Who is our neighbor? " The Pharisee or the Samaritian? He held up the child who answered, " The Samaritian ". He said, " The kingdom of God belongs to whom such as these Children. We don't regard Jesus still as an infant, its only part of the teaching, what we saw Jesus in picture or statue form, or the people who had seen Jesus in the past, that's only the human form of Jesus. No living human has seen Jesus' real image, but I am sure that we all yearn to see him, and touch him, our Savior and Our best Friend. In His Glory, Emmanuel |
