Friend, I have just realised the confusion the listing of the posting in MESSAGEBOARD must have caused. There were three responses to my first writeup one above the other. When I responded to these (all three, not just you), it appeared as if I was replying only to you. Sorry. It was to all three. So most of what I said did not apply to your posting...but to the other two. Should have specified that in my posting. My apologies to you.
The only thing I take issue with you is the way the questioning went....
I dont think it is wrong to ask questions. It might be better to ask questions directly to the people involved(FCBC leadership) rather than on the forum...since your guess is as good as mine/ the next person on the forum pages. Better get it from the horses' mouth. Posing pointed questions like that on the web might generate a lot of negativity towards the people involved (even if you dont intend it to do so). I have been shocked and concerned as I read the postings of the last few days to realise how much anger there seems to be re happenings in FCBC. I must be one of the few people who have heard the rumbles from a great distance but am not in the loop to hear how strong the feelings are or what they were specifically about. Am concerned primarily because I am part of the Body of Christ in Singapore....and what happens to one part of the Body will hurt other parts of the Body too....The only one laughing in such a situation is the enemy...Hence I would like to encourage people not put more fuel to the fire of controversy....but to seek some way of building bridges of understanding and healing. Not peace at all costs but costly peace...
I understand that Lawrence Khong did explain to the pastors of the city ( at a LOVESINGAPORE gathering) about a month or two ago why he did what he did and answered some questions re what was happening in FCBC (retrenchments, magic show etc). Perhaps your pastor has attended this meeting and can give you an update on the answers...?You might want to try asking your pastor.....
