My question is: what then is the significance of Him going into Hades? I believe that Jesus must die in order to procure our salvation but must He also go into Hades? What's He doing there?
Frank: When our Lord died, He went to paradise, obviously with the penitent thief who sought Him during the last hours. Where is this paradise situated and located? Contrary to modern philosophy, many assume that it is in Heaven. But the stories of Lazarus and the rich man stories gave us clear clue that it was Abraham's bosom. There is comfort and security. A divider of a great gulf separates the two places. How many compartments then were in Hellish places?
Moses and Abraham cannot be in Heaven, for Christ the redeemer hasn't arrived,then. Elijah and Enoch, Bible reveals that they did not die, so they must seem to be the ones hidden in someplaces. Where? No clear answers from scriptures.
Jesus must be in Hell to honor His words to Old Testament Saints, so as to rescue them out of that confined places. How David declares of his going down into Hell, make clear of his temporal resting places.
A cloud was seen to be leaving with Jesus, during His ascension. Cloud was known as the people of Old. At Christ death, an Earthquake ensued and many Old Saints were seen by people of those days. It reveals to us some occurrence.
About Mary Magdalene conversations with Him. Jesus had to perform or offer His Blood, in the Heavenly Sanctuary, so it was told to us from scriptures. Since Jesus hasn't ascended yet, during those hours, certain obligations of Him has not been done. She shouldn’t touch Jesus.
Satan had a hold over all inhabitants of this world, is no tales. It was true and real, until Lord Jesus strip him of his authority and power and legal rights. How the incidents occur when Christ was in Hell and how He overpower Satan, made a triumph display before all Devils, Angels and Old Saints, it was briefly told to us by Paul. The facts remain, now Jesus had the keys of Hell, and Life and Death. God has now entrusted our destiny into the hands of Jesus, and all judgments to Him, is no play of words from scriptures. Nor does it reveal in vain that Salvations can be found only in our Lord Jesus, alone.
Jesus had communicated to Father, and exploring other options than to die for Humanity. Father made it plain that, in order for Salvation to humanity is secured; the only way was for Him to pay that price for all souls of Adam. Our Lord Jesus, in obedience, and made a conscious choice, to go to the cross for us.
During the Mount of Transfigurations, Moses and Elijah were seen conversing with Jesus, and God also thundered in His voice to all, obviously giving instructions to Elijah and Moses, about an unfolding event that is about to occur, when the King Jesus enter into Hell. Did not God told all to listen to Lord Jesus? Moses and Elijah were great Man of God, and why should they listen to Jesus? Who is Jesus? Moses and Elijah came to know about Him after the mount of Transfigurations.
There is another compartments in Hell, where Fallen Angels who were kept till this days, never had the freedom to roam this Earth anymore since they took up wives of Mortal Man. They were lock up waiting for great White throne Judgments, together with Satan and his cohorts.
Abraham's bosom, or [Paradise was shifted in Heaven,] that place is now vacant in Hell. This entire locality is found right underneath our Earth. Hell is really right under our FOOT. Devils really existed in this world and are still working to deceive souls. But God is all the more active in His love for us.
Apostle Creed declares that Jesus went into Hell, but did not reveal many details of all that ever transpired down there. The scriptures told us that Jesus died, and He indeed went to Hell. But why must Heretics oppose this fact? It is the simplest statement in this world that says, Jesus went to Hell.... James went to market. John went to Shopping centre. What is so mind boggling about this words that require Exegesis, and deep Interpretations, or complicated deductions to decipher its wondrous mysteries?
I am not in the interests to rebuke people for the sake of it. I want to draw attention of people who perverts doctrines to suit their ideologies and heresies for Unrighteous gain.
I hope briefly words of mind suffice your answers for now.
