What do the Scriptures Say ? 1 Corinthians 6:9 (KJV) " Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, " We see here that forniIcation is grouped with: 1: Idolatry 2. Aduldery 2. effiminate (homosexuality) 3. abusers of themselves with mankind (homosexuality / sodomy ) It is plain that this is unrighteousness in it highest sense. And that the "unrighteous" shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Very severe I would say. The penality for adultery under Old Testament Law was death. (Lev 20:10) Furthermore we are told to have no "fellowship with unrighteousness." What is ashame is that many Churches disobey God concerning this. Here in America many churches ordain homosexuals and fornicators thus condoning this unrighteousness. They are more interested in being politically correct and filling up seats in the church than speaking the truth of God. So in reply I would say and also believe the Scriptures agree that the "weight" of such sin is very grave. God Bless Bill Roth |
