What is works? What is true faith?

Before discussing justification by faith as opposed to justification by works, it is important that we need to define "works" in biblical aspect; what are consider works and what are consider commandments. Another important word we must not neglect is the word "faith". What is true faith? Does true faith follow by works or just believes without works? Once we have established these 2 important point, we can have a fruitful discussion without going round and round, thus wasting everybody's time.
