Hi SK, Firstly, to answer the point on Messianic Jews, I do not know any, but I know a Christian friend who follows a similar way of life. So I did my own research on Messianic Jews by browsing around their websites. Try doing a search on Messianic Jews. There, they might have articles on the issue of Food Laws/ Kosher Food. I must declare that I do not know enough of their culture to be able to understand their stand on this. SK: Is there any proof on this from the Scriptures that Paul did not practice what he taught about food? Did he still fully practice all the Judaic laws still after Christ had come to fulfil much of the Old Testament sacrifices? These are the very questions I ask myself too. So far, I have not come across any text in the Bible that states that Paul, Peter, John and Christ did not adhere to the Judaic laws. Instead, Paul did proclaim that he was "a Hebrew of Hebrew, of zeal a Pharisee" and yet he counted all these nothing to who Christ was to him. All that only challenged other issues, but not on food laws. So it raises another question: did the church then have no problem with keeping the food laws since there was no mention of it? God bless as we try to dig into the truth of this matter, royston p.s: if there be anyone who knows or are acquainted with Messianic Jews, try to get them involved in here, to help reveal some truths to us on this aspect of Food Laws. |
