Hi Wahshing,
I'm not sure why you wrote so much details about your negative experience in your own church. For all you know the scenario is nothing new to anyone who attends a cell group church. Your church isn't the only cell group church and not the only leading church in history to have unique problems that cannnot be resolved. Many people have left their own church in many other churches, irrespective of denominations, structure, size and influence. It's nothing new under the sun. It seems to me that you want to bring out issues for discussion here but you can't seem to be able to keep your personal grouses about your church to yourself and to those whom you know in real life. Broadcasting eg a family's problem in public is sometimes the worst thing for that family. Thats' why counselling is always in person and in strict confidence. Only matters can be worked out with full confidence by all parties concerned, not just one party to highlight the problems while the family is not consulted at all in person. For us to always allude the problems to the leaders or the ministers or the methodologies is nothing new since Adam's time. Whatsoever problems we face in life, the solution always start with ourselves with the Lord's help of course. Have you thought about your own responsibilities to be able to work through problems in day to day living for example. You will need that in secular life in order to make proper sense of living and that will be even more so within the church, for we are dealing with the spiritual realm as well. A lot of spiritual conflicts within a church can continue unabated when God's children are not vigilant enough to take their weapons of prayer and intercession. If problems will always arise wherever we are working with people, whether the setting is a business office or an organisation (how come nobody question the mission statements of an MNC but slogged faithfully to preserve the rice bowl from breaking?) or in a community or a nation, what more will problems be in a church which the enemy is targeting day and night? The problems you're facing need not be just because its FCBC. In the world one always face problems dealing with people. In the church, we deal with the saved or unsaved attending the cell from all walks of life; we work under leaders, spiritual or carnal sometimes who may not fully understand our own personal struggles, spiritual giftings, personality temperaments etc ; we serve the Lord using strategies given to the leadership (whether copied from others is another matter) for church growth, biblically fined tuned or otherwise. In other words, we all are still serving the Lord in His kingdom while still on earth where there always will be problems and i believe most church leaders are still seeking the best way forward to advance the Kingdom of God as the church progresses and as the Lord's coming draws near the battle will be more severe, because of the increasing number of souls to be reached by virtue of population growth in the world and the hardness of men's hearts grow worse. So strategies for church growth need not always be a church's fanciful dream or because of sheer love of numbers, its just that God is not desiring any to perish and yet God wants His church to be the harvesters not the angels as yet. I really hope you can find some counsel with some godly brethren amongst those you know in real life as to how to resolve the conflicts you're facing in your church. May the Good Shepherd lead you into His rest when you can see things more clearly about what is really happening. Will be praying for you and your church. May the Lord bless you with His peace, joy and strength for His service, SK
