Royston,I saw you having good points,so I wanted to take backseat.With saved-by-grace chip in,there are better reasons I should discontinue. Just for your requests,my response. Chris: It is God Himself who has chosen to withdraw the sign gifts. We are merely recognising that in His overall plan. Frank:There is no doctrines in the Bible to even hint that God Himself chose to withdraw the gifts.John Macarthur,BB Warfield...most of their errors and harm to our Faith in the Lord Jesus,were being refuted thoroughly,even by Jack Deere. Their theories were so flimsy,and with such weakest foundations ever stated...it is as though they have never read the Bible at all,or just distort the scriptures. Why do you think that people are harping that we must not accept extra- revelations that were not found in the Bible?Yet,these individuals forever never kept their word!How do they know God withdraw the sign gifts?Is it from Bible?No.Is it from extra revelations from some "dream up concoctions?"Definitely it was!You see,that is why they accuse Charismatics of accepting extra revelations always,when they themselves are always like that! Most simplest sense.Is there no sick people anymore that do not need healings?Sign gifts are for what?To honor Jesus,and its message of Redemptions or to honor the Apostles who write up scripture,and it need to authenticate them? Does it not also for the sick,the ultimate "consumer"of blessings of healings? It would be longer articles if I should put before you the distortions and fictions those theologians said. Chris:Charismatics like to use the argument of the lack of faith. Some claim that we don't experience the sign gifts because we have lost faith in sign gifts. It then becomes a chicken and egg thing. Do we lack faith because we don't see the sign gifts or are we sceptical because we don't see the sign gifts? Which is the cause and which is the effect Frank:Obviously Chris present a poor arguments. We know from Bible that without Faith we cannot please God.The gifts of God never cease.If people who were skeptics,and had unbelief,will sign gifts be operating under that conditions?Of course not. If they wishes to be ignorant,is it not true that they will be remain ignorant as Paul stated? BTW,we know chicken came first and not egg.We believe in Creator God,and not some abstract science! Chris:Perhaps you can also consider this: what difference does it make if we say that people are healed as a result of God answering prayer, it has nothing to do with any gift of healing? Frank:Yes,Chris is quite right.Kathryn had always said that. Kathryn didn't seem to have the gift of Healings.It was the result of Prayer. Chris:Someone said that she had a big heart and that she died of heart failure because her heart expanded out of love for the sick. That's interesting, poetic but not medically sound Frank:Chris is right this time.That is poetic.Indeed she had a big heart for lost souls and loves sinners.She died of Cancers....eom
