Many theologians and scholars debate that in order to understand the epistles to the churches, one needs to understand Jesus' ministry while he was on earth, and not just on that, but also to have a firm handle over the OT, as many of the issues Paul was debating over, had reference to the Gospels as well as OT. So were the rest of the authors, they had a reference point, which springs forth from their revelation of the OT, in the light of Jesus the Messiah. Maybe we all might need to spend more time to research what the OT says, with hindsight of what Christ is to us. What say you 2? God be with us, royston |
