one sermon which i remember very well was when the preacher imaged a modern equivalent of the prostitute washing Jesus' feet... to this effect -
right in the middle of a sunday service, a girl with sequined clothing that covers just the minimum, obviously just after work at a go-go bar came crashing through the doors crying 'I love Jesus, I love Jesus'... what would you do? And another image from asian feminist theology that I appreciated much was the imaging of Mary, after years of seeing her in her lourdes blue or byzantine red/blue combo - here we have a feisty young girl who challenged all male-oriented perception of women - girl, inferior, less intelligent, unmarried yet with child, crying out 'he has turned away the proud empty! he has exalted the humble and weak'. call her a commie!
