Hi,

Yah, you are good and thanks for your reply further down.

Bible prophecy is a very difficult subject and there are so many, many views. You even have a few who claim direct revelations in understanding Bible prophecies.

Most of the preachers hardly preach on Bible prophecy. They usually avoid this subject. I don't believe I've come across any good preachers on Bible prophecy so far. Some try but they are not very convincing. I have done some investigations for my own use and so far I haven't shared much with other people.

The Jews missed the first coming of the Messiah because they didn't understand the Scriptures. Yet God held them to be accountable.

I think in understanding Bible prophecies there is a probability of being wrong on some points but we are still to try our best to understand as much as we can.

Why only four Empires - The Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Greek and the Romans? Good question. Because during the Roman Empire, a stone cut out without hands, would struck these empires and God would set up a Kingdom which will never be destroyed and that will never be left to another people: it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever. Daniel 2:44.

It is not difficult to understand that this is the Kingdom of God. But when was it to be set up? During the Roman Empire or in some distant future? You'll have to think about this. Remember when the Lord Jesus Christ started preaching He said, "The Kingdom of God is at hand".

To understand the prophecies you'll need some knowledge of Babylonian (gold), Persian (silver), Greek (brass) and Roman (iron and clay), history. Roman history will be very important and you need to have a good knowledge of it because quite a lot of the prophecies refer to the Roman Empire. At first it was one kingdom - hard as iron, but later on it broke up to 10 kingdoms - the 10 toes, and present Europe evolved from these 10 kingdoms. There was a lot of battles and wars in these kingdoms - iron and clay don't mix. Britain was one of these kingdoms. Remember Julius Ceasar conquered Britain in 55 B.C. and Britain was under the Roman rule for a long time.

There are four beast - lion, bear, leopard and a beast with 11 horns. These are more details of the four kingdoms but note the beast with 11 horns. Suppose to be 10 kingdoms, right? But why 11 horns? This will be relevant for us as I understand it. Who do you think this 11th king will be?

Your Matthew 24:15 is a good question. It is all depends on getting your timing right.

Will talk to you more next time.

God Bless and Bye Bye:
