Hi SBG,

You are right, Matt 24 is not easy to interpret, but there is something we are pretty sure of, that is, Matt 24 is talking about 3 events

1. the destruction of the temple

2. the sign of Jesus coming

3. the end of the world

I BELIEVE:

Verse 5-29 is describing 1 & 2 but verse 15-29 have not happen yet.

verse 30-31 is describing 3

The most difficult verse is 34 "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."

The "generation" seems to talk about the generation during Jesus times but there is a possibility that it is referring to the Christians. One of the meaning found in Webster dictionary describe "generation" as "a group of such people with the same experience, belief, attitude etc..."

The "abomination of desolation" is talking about the future becoz if it is in the past, it would have been recorded in history.
