Hi Interested, You wrote: "You said, "Which means kingdom of God postponed because of Israel's rejection of Christ at His first coming will be established only at His second coming." Ah, this is the sort of doctrine which I strongly reject because it means God is subjected to the will of man. It makes God seem like He can't do what He wants without man doing His will or approving it." I don’t see the problem. God is sovereign and ultimately His Word will come to pass. But man seldom like to cooperate with God - God usually didn't get what He wants with man. So God issued warnings again and again, and He forgave them again and again. But ultimately there will be divine wrath, destruction and judgment and then God will have His way. Your wrote: "Oh btw, on the "kingdom of God being 'within' you, it is a bad translation. It should be "the kingdom of God is among you" or "in the midst of you"." Let’s assume that “the kingdom of God is among you” or “in the midst of you” is the right translation as you suggest. What sense can you make out of Lk 17:21 then? The kingdom of God is among/in the midst of the unbelieving Pharisees at the point of Christ speaking to them? That means the kingdom already established at that point of Christ speaking to them? And the kingdom is in their midst and they still can't see it? Verse: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is among/in the midst of you. You wrote: "If you tell the "Kingdom of God is within you", meaning "inside" you a Hindu will be very happy. I doubt such a concept exists in Judaism." As I pointed out, I disagree with the view that Lk 17:21 teaches the belief that the kingdom of God is the invisible rule of God in the hearts of believers. ( (I note with interest that you recognise that Judaism was still in practice when Christ was dealing with Israel while on earth. There wasn't Christianity at that time of Christ speaking.) You wrote: "On the 1260 days my veiws may probably be different from yours. Haven't confirmed it yet." I used Rev 12:6,14 to show that “a time, and times, and half a time” = 1260 days. I didn’t explain what these verses mean. On that point I am not able to see how your view can differ from mine unless you say that 1260 days doesn’t mean 1260 days but something else. You wrote: "Are you sure there is going to be future Anti-Christ or a Tribulation? ... Do you think John's Anti-christ is the same person in Paul's 2 Thessolonian's? " About the Antichrist Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Dan 7:36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Rev 13:5-7 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 1 Thess 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. The above verses speak about the same person who will at the last days rose to oppose God and His Christ and to set himself up in the temple of Jerusalem to be worshipped as God. He is called by various names e.g. the beast, the son of perdition, the Assyrian. He will have many followers or antichrists as spoken in 1st & 2nd John. For simplicity, I used one umbrella name for this same person - Antichrist with a capital A. About Tribulation The "day of the Lord" is mentioned many times in the OT. One prominent aspect of it will be the outpouring of God’s wrath at the end of the age – it will be a “great and dreadful” time Isaiah 13:6 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Isaiah 13:9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. Joel 2:11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it? (compare Rev 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?) Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: In Rev 1:10, John says “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day”. The Lord’s day (Gk phraseology) is the same as the day of the Lord in Hebrews. John was witnessing visions of what would take place in the day of the Lord in the future. The big question at that time will be: do you choose the Christ of God or the Anti-Christ of Satan? |

Hi LBS, It's okay. The main problem with prophecy is to fix the timing of the event. n/t by Interested , 2001, Oct 09
