John 15:2 ( NASB)
"Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit." You're right, the Father prunes (disciplines) but only those who bear fruit, not those who doesn't. This is what the bible says, not me. If Jesus had meant discipline for 'take away', then please read verse 6. John 15:6 (NASB) "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up; and they gather them into the fire and they are burned." Who is the one who doesn't abide in Christ? The one who isn't bearing fruit (see v 5). So isn't 'take away' having the meaning of 'throw away' according to the texts?
