All beloved, Kindly read the reply pertaining to MOL. Any comment on this issue? Joe ************************************************************** Dear Joe, Thank you for sharing your posting and opinion on this matter. In my last e-mail, I have categorically stated that the illusions used by Pastor Khong are sleight of hand and specially-built apparatus. You are right that the Bible is silent about the use of illusions but the Bible clearly is in opposition to "drug addiction (destruction of God's temple), prostitution, robbery and murder." So I beg to differ on your statement in the e-mail. Hence, Andre Kole's application of 1 Cor 9 is appropriate. I can only proffer our view and assure you that Pastor Lawrence Khong did the show out of obedience to God and gave his best effort to bring the gospel message to people who might otherwise not have heard it. There are many people who would have never gone to a gospel rally if we had kept to the conventional ways to running rallies. By this, I do not discount that there is a place for such rallies. It's just that Magic of Love was structured as seeker-sensitive. Shouldn't this remind us of why Christ came Incarnate so that we could find the way back to our Heavenly Father. It was "to seek and save the lost" and that it is the "sick who needs the physician". From all your postings, it seems that you have made up your mind on this issue of Magic of Love. Please do not be too quick to judge but examine the facts before you and read it in the context of reaching the lost who the message of hope and salvation. I hope that when the Lord Jesus returns, He will find us busy helping to plunder hell and populate heaven. God bless you. To: Mr Samuel Wee Corporate Communications Manager Faith Community Baptist Church, Singapore Dear Samuel, I have read your "Understanding Magic in a Christian context". In the conclusions, it quotes Andre Kole's words saying that "Magicians are legitimate deceptionists" as he applies 1 Corinthians 9:21-23. Are you saying that it is legitimate for us to be drug addicts to win some drug addicts, to be prostitutes to win prostitutes, to be robbers to win robbers and to be murderers to win murderers? Kindly read my posting herewith and know the truth. Shalom Joe |
