You feeling better now? Sure missed your presence and your patience. I agree with you that we should never call other peoples doctrines as heresies. The problem in here currently, while you had been nursing @ home, is how others (mostly the pentacostals) are saying things like salvation must be worked out with fear and trembling. They seem to proclaim Christ is their only salvation, and say we must abide in Him, but in the end, say we must do good works to show that we are true believers. The last part seems to negate Christ's finished works, and that they are doing God's works on their own accord. Is that right? Worst still they even try to use terminogies like "pseudo-saints" that lump people who are pew-warmers into this category, and then say that these people will lose their salvation because they have no works to prove their sainthood, so they will be cast into eternal damnation and be counted as saints who have fallen away. All in all, they have been approaching from a moralistic point of view, that cuts right down to the core of whether salvation is assured or not. A long argument has occurred and what to do, I had to start it, as I felt that one of them truly lifts Scriptural haphazardly and then call it truth, when he does not even refer to the chapter's context. I am tired of arguing with him, I want to call it a day. Still have one more exam paper to go, coming next week. Do keep me in prayer. Will be praying for your health too. God's assurance is ours forever, once we believe that Christ is our Lord and Saviour, and nothing we can try to do will ever save us. Oh how I find peace in Romans 8:26-39 for truly nothing can ever separate us from the love of Christ. In Christ Alone, I place my trust. royston |
