"I always taught that those who fall into depression are those who do not have faith or believe in God. They are not true believers in my opinion."
Your statement depresses me utterly. Am I not a Christian then? Please go through some literature about what clinical depression really means, before condemning the millions who are suffering not from lack of faith but rather an ailment of the pysche (for want of a better way to put it). I would like to think that those, who in their Christian walk, encounter numerous trials, tribulations, times of distress and wanting, true anguish and calamity, and yet believe in God's ultimate saving grace through Christ, are those whose faith are truly refined and lasting. If you have been blessed such that your walk is always joyful and carefree, be thankful to God. But please do not regard those who face temporal hardship, be it physical, mental or emotional, as evidence of unbelief. What God may have planned for others is His Good Will, not for you to judge.
