hi interested,
i believe that it is by focusing on Jesus the Son that we can come to know the loving Father God. it is by turning our eyes to the cross on which the Son was hung that we can fully understand our Father's perfect justice and mercy, His judgement and His grace. what i see as precarious to the christian belief is not so much a lack of emphasis on God as our Father, but the lack of focus on the Son Jesus Christ. i believe that if we pay enough attention and are honest enough, we will realise how comfortable and ready people are to talk about "God", but not so with "Jesus Christ". it is quite possible to talk about God without talking about Jesus. it is also possible to talk about the Holy Spirit without talking about Christ. but i find that it is almost impossible to talk accurately about Jesus Christ without bringing into the picture our loving Father and the Holy Spirit. and notice how we are warned in the Word to guard against the "anti-Christ" and not the "anti-God"? Jesus Christ is the name above all names. Jesus Christ is the only foundation of our faith. through Him, we see an accurate picture of our Father, and because of Him, we have the Holy Spirit in us. i don't see how one can worship and serve the true God without being Christ-focused. let's all give praise to our Father for His wonderful gift of His Son :-) in His Grace, keith
