Just because the Buddhist spend millions, does it follow that we Christians should do likewise? Doesn't the Bible warn us strongly against following the ways of the world? You talk about how the "Holy Spirit now resides in the heart of the believer, rather than behind the curtain of a physical temple." Hmmm isn't it strange that a "Church without walls" would actually need a $20 million dollar building containing exactly that... WALLS. I'm afraid the reasons you've cited are pitiful. Yes, the Bible commands us to "PREACH" the "GOSPEL" to the ends of the world. You and those of your mindset seem to concentrate on the "PREACH" element. You seem to have little regard for WHAT you're preaching... even to the point of violating the spirit and message of the Scriptures. Christians on the other hand take a more balanced approach. Yes we "preach"... but the "GOSPEL" must be presented in its unblemised and untainted form. No, my friend, "preaching the GOSPEL" (note the emphasis shown in uppercase!) should be the primary concern. Unfortunately, these days, "PREACHING the gospel" seems to be the fad... especially the means and form that's financially lucrative. Hey, if it makes money... who cares about the message right. Well, true Christians care. |
