The truth is Touch Entertainment is not a church

Touch Entertainment is a commercial entity, not a church, though it comes under a church. Therefore, it can do what a church can’t do. TE's mission is "to touch the hearts of Asians around the world through the medium of Art, Film, Music and Live Performance, for the transformation of society." It can do so without the GOSPEL! Thus, TE is not obliged to preach the Word and present the gospel to the world. Its aim is to offer good entertainment as alternatives to the corrupted world. It is expressed in its statement: "In the works are movies and live performances that we hope will raise the banner of Christian excellence and integrity in the entertainment scene." What a noble mission! Indeed, it is the greatest reformation of society in human history. However, one must ask how effective it can be in view of the weakness in human nature? If good and decent movies can satisfy the lust of eyes, there wouldn't be RA rated movies and VCD around. This is a perverted and adulterous generation. If we know from the Word that “because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold”, we will not be stumbled by what we see, but will stand firm to the end. There is no way and no need to reform society. Christ did not even try to reform the society then; for He knew His kingdom was not of this world. James 4:4 warns us that "friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God." Who dares to ignore this warning and befriend the entertainment world? May God have mercy on us! |
